Job summary

Full Spectrum Print & Marketing is seeking an experienced Mac Operator to join our busy Basildon production team. This practical pre-press role involves checking and preparing artwork for litho and digital printing, with a focus on accuracy.

You should bring hands-on knowledge of commercial print, strong InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop skills, and familiarity with Kodak Prinergy and Heidelberg Suprasetter would be a plus. Training available to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mac Operator, Artwork/Pre-press roles required.
• Strong knowledge of Adobe CC: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Understanding of bleed, trim, colour, overprint, fonts and image resolution.

Responsibilities

• Check supplied artwork and PDFs before production.
• Pre-flighting files and identifying print issues.
• Make artwork amendments where required and prepare files for litho and digital print.
• Imposition and plate output, support CTP production.

Full Spectrum Print & Marketing – Basildon, Essex

Full Spectrum Print & Marketing is looking for an experienced Mac Operator to join our busy production team in Basildon.

This is a practical, hands-on pre-press role for someone who understands commercial print, takes pride in accuracy, and can prepare supplied artwork confidently for production.

Experience with Kodak Prinergy workflow and Heidelberg Suprasetter CTP would be a strong advantage, although we are happy to support the right person with further training.

About the Role

You will be responsible for checking, preparing and outputting artwork for a wide range of print projects, working closely with our production and account management teams.

The role will include:

• Checking supplied artwork and PDFs before production
• Pre-flighting files and identifying potential print issues
• Making artwork amendments where required
• Preparing files for litho and digital print
• Imposition and plate output
• Supporting CTP production
• Liaising with internal teams to resolve artwork queries
• Helping maintain quality, consistency and accuracy across all jobs
• Working to production schedules and agreed deadlines

This role would suit someone who enjoys solving artwork and production challenges, understands the importance of getting things right first time, and is comfortable working in a busy print environment.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone with a good working knowledge of commercial print and pre-press processes.

You should have:

• Experience as a Mac Operator, Artworker, Pre-press Operator or similar
• Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong understanding of print-ready PDFs
• Knowledge of bleed, trim, colour, overprint, transparency, fonts and image resolution
• A practical understanding of litho and digital print production
• The ability to work well as part of a team

Experience with Kodak Prinergy, Heidelberg Suprasetter, imposition, CTP output and PDF workflow systems would be highly beneficial.
