Job summary

SMP Group Plc is seeking a Digital Print Operator in Greater London. The role focuses on producing high quality printed materials, setting up and maintaining printing equipment, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure materials are ready for production.

The ideal candidate will have excellent print knowledge, experience with relevant equipment, strong colour understanding, and a proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process work from the repro/print department
• Ensure work is prepared to correct specification before starting
• QC to job requirements
• Maintain and process work according to the production schedule
• Notify supervisor/manager of major issues
• Solve minor issues to keep workflow smooth
• Maintain machinery per manufacturer recommendations
• Keep work area and machinery clean and tidy
• Select the correct media profile and rip the job to be printed (training provided)

The Role: Digital Print Operator

Responsible for producing high quality printed materials following printing job specifications within the agreed time allocated, setting up, operating, adjusting, and maintaining the equipment to ensure that it functions optimally. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to resolves any issues related to production in a timely manner. Working closely with internal teams to ensure materials are available for production while maintaining high standards of organisation and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and process work sent down from the repro/print department
• Ensure that the work is prepared to the correct specification before commencing job
• QC to job requirements
• Maintain and process work according to the production schedule
• Notify the supervisor/manager when a major issue is encountered
• Problem solves minor issues, to ensure that the work flows smoothly through the department
• Maintain the machinery to manufacturers recommendations
• Keep work area and machinery clean and tidy
• Select the correct media profile then rip the job to be printed (training will be given if needed)
