Job summary

Pulse Healthcare seeks an experienced Digital Pathology Lead Biomedical Scientist in North West England. This locum role focuses on slide scanning, digital image processing, and QA within a fully digital service, with no wet-lab work.

The successful candidate will provide operational leadership, oversee daily workflows, liaise with clients and reporting pathologists, and drive service improvements during a period of transition and growth.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist is required.
• Significant histology and digital pathology experience.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a lab.
• Strong communication with clients and reporting pathologists.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of digital pathology services with quality workflow.
• Oversee slide scanning, image processing, and digital case prep.
• Provide leadership to the digital pathology team and ensure smooth operations.
• Act as main contact for clients and reporting pathologists.
• Maintain high standards and drive continuous service improvement.
• Resolve workflow issues and support system development.
• Collaborate with management to meet objectives and client expectations.
