Job Description:

We have a predominantly home-based Digital Marketing Manager position available for a candidate living within the south of the UK. There will be approximately one or two days per month needed for meetings in London, so candidates should be located close enough to attend these meetings without inconvenience.

We are seeking a results-driven and highly organized strategic Digital Marketing Manager to manage and optimize the performance of our client's external digital marketing agency. This individual will ensure the agency delivers maximum value for their marketing budget across channels like Paid Search (PPC), Paid Social, SEO, and CRO, though there is no direct focus on CRM.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital marketing tactics and strategy, a keen eye for performance metrics, and the ability to manage and hold agencies accountable for meeting goals and KPIs.

Applicants should have managed budgets over £750,000 across the specified channels and have extensive proven experience in driving performance-based digital marketing changes in ecommerce, travel, or financial services sectors. Note that this role does not involve managing a team, and there are no plans to hire within the first 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic digital change across search, content, and paid channels.
  • Act as the primary contact for external digital marketing agencies, overseeing Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO, and CRO campaigns.
  • Set objectives and expectations with agencies, aligning with business goals.
  • Hold agencies accountable for results, aiming for continuous improvement in performance and ROI.
  • Analyze key metrics (e.g., CPC, CPA, CTR, ROAS) to optimize campaigns.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership, with data-driven recommendations.
  • Manage digital marketing budgets and allocate funds efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Evaluate new trends and opportunities in digital marketing for future campaigns.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven strategic digital marketing experience, especially in ecommerce, travel, or financial services, managing budgets of £750,000+.
  • Experience in driving high-volume low-value sales (£10 - £1000) daily, ideally in financial, ecommerce, or travel sectors.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing paid search, paid social, and SEO campaigns.
  • Experience managing or working with agencies, including accountability for performance and ROI.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and performance optimization.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
  • A degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
