Job description

Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for aDigital Marketing Lead to join our team.You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a salary of £48,964 per annum.

About theDigital Marketing Lead role:

The Digital Marketing Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing the overall digital marketing plan for Royal Voluntary Service and its associated digital volunteering platform and marketplace, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals and objectives. This senior leadership role will oversee all digital marketing activities across various channels, focusing on brand development, customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.

The Digital Marketing Lead will oversee content production and collaborate cross-functionally with other teams including web, comms, social media, sales, and marketing, to drive business growth and enhance the customer experience.

This role will have direct oversight of the digital marketing strategy, budget management, performance metrics, and the execution of digital marketing campaigns, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Home based with occasional national travel.

What you'll bring as our Digital Marketing Lead :

Knowledge

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Communications) or extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in a senior digital marketing role.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing, social media, content marketing, and traditional marketing channels.
  • Strong understanding of brand development and positioning.
  • Experience with marketing analytics and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media insights, CRM software).
  • Knowledge of customer segmentation and targeting strategies.
  • Awareness of industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Familiarity with SEO/SEM strategies and best practices.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience motivating and developing teams.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret marketing data, making data-driven decisions to improve performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and marketing platforms email marketing, social media management, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

  • Significant experience in senior marketing roles, including strategic planning, execution, and team management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading marketing campaigns and driving brand awareness.
  • Experience in managing and optimising marketing budgets.
  • Experience of working with cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives.
  • Experience in managing external agencies and contractors.
  • Experience in creating and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders and external partners.
