Job summary

Capita Business Services is seeking a Digital Learning Support Assistant to help learners build digital skills and confidence within a Royal Navy education environment in Portsmouth. You will work alongside instructors to support initial assessments and personalise learning plans, including support for SpLD and neurodiverse learners, and to access online resources.

The role focuses on coaching, using Microsoft 365, and guiding learners through Functional Skills English and maths with a flexible,

Qualifications

• Good digital skills, including experience using Microsoft 365.
• Confident learning and using new digital systems.
• Experience supporting or coaching people to develop new skills.
• An understanding of Functional Skills English and maths.
• Experience within the military would be an advantage.
• Level 3 or higher qualification in education and training.
• Coaching and/or mentoring qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group coaching to help learners build digital skills and confidence.
• Help learners use the digital systems and platforms they need to access and complete their learning.
• Support initial assessments and help identify learning needs, contributing to personalised learning plans.
• Provide support for learners with SpLD and neurodiverse needs to access learning effectively.
• Support learners studying Functional Skills English and maths using coaching techniques to build confidence and progress.
• Set up learner accounts and provide ongoing support with accessing online resources and digital tools.
• Maintain accurate learner records and provide administrative support including exams, reporting and invigilation.
• Work with instructors to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment while maintaining safeguarding standards.

What you'll be doing

• Provide one-to-one and small-group coaching and practical support to help learners build their digital skills and confidence.
• Help learners use the digital systems and platforms they need to access and complete their learning.
• Support initial assessments and help identify individual learning needs, contributing to personalised learning plans.
• Provide appropriate support for learners with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) and neurodiverse needs, helping them access learning effectively.
• Support learners studying Functional Skills English and maths, using coaching techniques to build confidence and encourage progress.
• Set up learner accounts and provide ongoing support with accessing online learning resources and digital tools.
• Maintain accurate learner records and provide administrative support, including exam activities, reporting and invigilation.
• Work closely with instructors and the wider learning team to create an inclusive, supportive and positive learning environment, while maintaining safeguarding and learner welfare standards.

What we’re looking for:
