Job summary

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Goodwood is seeking a forward-thinking student for a Digital Innovation - Placement Year. You will learn the production line, maintain and develop computing solutions to support the team building the best car in the world, and push digital solutions across assembly.

You will work on Industry 4.0 initiatives and gain insight into data-driven improvements. Ideal candidates study Computer Science or Engineering with a 2:2 or higher, have Lean Manufacturing or Quality

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or integrated Master's degree with a 2:2 or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant course.
• Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems or Quality Systems.
• Ideally you will have a good knowledge of manufacturing techniques.
• Able to communicate in English; German would be beneficial.
• You should work from your own initiative and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Strong PC skills and MS Office knowledge; Manufacturing Systems are desirable.
• Any coding experience (SQL or Python) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify digital solutions that support continuous improvement of product quality.
• Understand computer systems used within assembly.
• Lead digital innovations towards Industry 4.0 to improve efficiency.
• Resolve complex issues related to production systems.
• Develop into a well-rounded professional taking concepts to implemented solutions.
• Analyze data sets to provide transparency and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support the Value Production System and Work Organisation throughout assembly.
