Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Digital Engineering Technician to join the Gray's team. You will support the Digital Engineering Manager by delivering project information, ensuring standards, and maintaining the CDE. Responsibilities include creating 3D models, supporting clash detection, and assisting in BEP/DEP implementation.

Role requires teamwork, strong organisation, and basic knowledge of digital workflows, CDE environments, and BIM framework standards. Hybrid working options available.

Qualifications

  • Team player capable of working within a project team.
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 standards is required.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic working knowledge of digital tools and workflows.
  • Knowledge of CDE environments and survey collection methods.
  • Understanding of 3D coordination (IDC/IDR) processes.
  • Experience with project information model development.
  • Appreciation of 4D and 5D concepts.
  • Awareness of BIM framework standards.

Responsibilities

Balfour Beaty has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Engineering Technician to join our growing team in Gray's

You will support the Digital Engineering Manager in delivering project requirements, producing and maintaining accurate project information, and ensuring compliance with project Digital Engineering standards and procedures. You will be Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining accurate project information in the Common Data Environment. What you'll be doing

  • Produce and maintain 3D models and associated digital outputs following project standards.
  • Provide support for model coordination, clash detection and design reviews.
  • Assist in implementation of the Project Digital Engineering / Digital Execution Plan (BEP/DEP).
  • Contribute to the setup, use and maintenance of the CDE.
  • Support project teams and supply chain partners in the use of Digital Engineering tools and workflows.
  • Carry out basic model/data validation and quality checks.
  • Assist in the preparation of 3D model visualisations, reports and digital deliverables.
  • Provide inputs to training/briefing materials for internal stakeholders
