Job summary

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Digital Engagement Officer to help ensure digital content is accurate, accessible and easy to find. You will shape how digital channels are used, working with colleagues across the service to deliver clear communications that support safer communities.

You’ll combine hands-on content management with stakeholder engagement, governance and continuous improvement, contributing to campaigns and corporate communications.

Qualifications

• Strong writing, editing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of digital accessibility and applying requirements to content.
• Experience with content governance, QA and lifecycle management.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to deadlines.
• Experience using data/analytics/feedback to improve content.
• Collaborative and inclusive cross-organisational work style.
• Interest in how digital channels and AI can improve content management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain content across the KFRS website and SharePoint Online intranet.
• Create and edit clear, engaging content, simplifying complex information.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and improve content.
• Coordinate content reviews, audits and governance processes.
• Apply accessibility standards and best practice to digital content.
• Improve structure, navigation, metadata and content organisation.
• Use analytics and user feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide guidance and training on content creation, publishing and accessibility.
• Support communications for organisational change and transformation projects.
• Collaborate with the Engagement and Education team on campaigns and corporate comms.
• Assist with emergency communications during incidents and participate in the duty press office rota.
