We are looking to recruit a person with an interest in nutrition and health to join our weight management team.
You will be trained and supported by qualified Dietitians to meet competencies to be able to work independently with the weight management programme and undertake groups both face to face and virtual, and one-to-one education when required.
Experience in healthcare and nutrition are preferable but not essential, as training will be provided. You will be expected to complete a Certificate in Nutritional Health as part of the role (if this qualification or an equivalent has not already been achieved).
There may be a requirement to travel to various locations across Sunderland and Washington, so you must have the ability to travel.

You should have an interest in weight management and nutrition with a friendly, caring attitude. This role requires you to be a team player due to the nature of delivering weight management groups.
Experience of working with the public, customer service, and working independently is essential. Desirable experience includes previous healthcare experience or working as a dietetic support worker as part of a team. Although not essential, experience working with groups and/or within weight management would be advantageous.
Nutrition & Dietetics sit under the Therapies Directorate within Clinical Support. The department operates Monday to Friday, and flexible working is supported if it meets service needs. This role will be part of the Tier 3 weight management team, which includes a dietetic assistant practitioner, dietetic support workers, and a specialist dietitian. The team is part of the Tier 4 bariatric MDT and collaborates with many others within Dietetics and the wider MDT. We support clinical supervision and additional training related to the role.
South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is a large organization in the North East of England with two main sites: South Tyneside District Hospital and Sunderland Royal Hospital. The Dietetic Department, comprising over 55 staff, is managed as one team but structured into smaller units led by Senior Specialist Dietitians.
