Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Generator Service Engineer to join our team based at the South Kirkby depot. You will service and maintain diesel generators from 14 kVA to 1,400 kVA, diagnose faults, and prepare equipment for hire, with on-site and depot work and an on-call rota.

The role requires practical diesel engine and electrical system knowledge, the ability to work independently, and a professional approach to safety and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and maintaining diesel generators.
• Strong fault-finding and breakdown repair skills.
• Practical understanding of diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to drive commercial vehicles.
• Professional approach to customer service, safety and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on generators.
• Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs efficiently and safely.
• Prepare equipment for hire, including servicing, repairing, cleaning and testing.
• Undertake on-site fault finding, repairs, rectification and testing.
• Maintain stocks of tools, parts and equipment in the van.
• Complete service reports accurately and on time.
• Participate in the on-call rota, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
