The Role

As a Diesel Gas Path Engineer, you will support engine and aftertreatment system development, ensuring adherence to engineering methods and supporting understanding across teams.

Your responsibilities:
  • Develop robust requirements and ensure targets are met on-cycle.
  • Develop and update system artifacts (MBSE models, use case analysis, LAD, FFA/DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP, requirements, standards).
  • Deliver new functions via SOC and FSOI processes.
  • Identify, report, and resolve system compatibility issues.
  • Chair technical reviews and resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Develop methods and conduct studies on future technologies.
  • Analyze emission test cycles and address emission-related issues.
Your Profile

Essential skills/experience:

  • Experience in electrified propulsion systems (MHEV, PHEV).
  • Strong background in Emissions/Gas Path/Aftertreatment.
  • Experience with emissions testing and calibration.
  • Knowledge of system integration (Aftertreatment, Gas Path).
  • Hands-on calibration experience on diesel engines.
  • Understanding of emission regulations and calibration.
  • Knowledge of ICE gas path chemistry and sensor control.
  • CAE experience with vehicle and propulsion systems, including Simulink.
  • Experience with Test case definition and DoE for HIL, PIL, VIL, and vehicle environments.
  • Full UK or equivalent driving license.
  • Problem-solving skills (8D, 6 Sigma).
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • Previous experience in emission calibration and powertrain systems.
  • Understanding MHEV systems and calibration across test cycles.
  • Experience with vehicle CAE modeling.
