Job summary

SVC Technical in the United Kingdom is seeking a Workshop Diesel Engineer to join our Colchester team. You will diagnose, maintain and repair heavy duty diesel engines across marine, generator, fire pump and crane applications, ensuring accurate service records.

We are looking for proven diesel engine experience, strong knowledge of diesel systems, and the ability to use precision measuring equipment. A 40-hour week Mon-Fri with some early finishes offers a solid work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a diesel engine mechanic or engineer, marine/industrial background preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel systems: fuel, cooling, turbocharging and engine controls.
• Experience with common rail and mechanical fuel pumps.
• Competence with precision measuring equipment (imperial and metric).
• Basic IT skills – Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair heavy duty diesel engines across marine, generator, fire pump and crane applications.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting on mechanical and fuel systems.
• Service and overhaul, completing service reports and documentation.
