Job summary

Rehlko in the United Kingdom is seeking a Workshop Generator Engineer to maintain, service, and prepare diesel generators for deployment. Working in a busy workshop, you will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and ensure all equipment meets quality and safety standards before leaving the depot.

You will read technical drawings, use diagnostic software, and work with engine brands such as Volvo, Scania, Perkins and MTU.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with diesel generators and related plant.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Experience with engine systems (Volvo, Scania, Perkins, MTU) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of generator control systems (Deep Sea, ComAp) is desirable.
• Commitment to safety, quality and compliance in workshop environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair of diesel generators from small sets to large MW units.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic software.
• Complete pre-hire inspections and ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards.
• Prepare generators and distribution equipment for deployment to customer sites.
• Conduct load bank testing, functional checks and performance verification.
• Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation.
• Ensure workshop activities comply with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001.
• Support continuous improvement and assist with stock control and workshop organisation.
