Job summary

TRAIN is seeking a Didcot Mentoring Lead to focus on early intervention for young people. You will support goal-setting, healthy relationships, emotional regulation, and educational engagement.

You will develop and deliver mentoring across secondary schools in Didcot and primary schools in surrounding areas, providing 1:1 and group support tailored to individual needs and creating welcoming, inclusive spaces for young people.

Qualifications

• Experience working directly with young people, particularly those facing disadvantage or marginalisation.
• Willing to work some ad-hoc flexible hours.
• Safeguarding training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and group mentoring with inclusive, trauma-informed practice.
• Forge relationships with Didcot schools and TRAIN's partners.
• Recruit, plan, deliver and evaluate mentoring across Didcot schools with a youth-centred approach.
• Ensure mentoring adapts to young people's changing needs and stays up to date.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the team and programmes.
• Create opportunities for youth voice in mentoring sessions.
• Ensure safeguarding compliance and report concerns.
• Contribute to wider youth work like clubs, outreach and trips.
• Monitor and report outcomes per funder requirements.
• Ensure delivery complies with TRAIN's policies.
• Support recruitment/training of mentoring team if growth occurs.
