Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Renal Care Assistant to support haemodialysis patients in an outpatient setting at Lincoln County Hospital. The role involves direct and indirect patient care under supervision, with training and competency-based progression.

You will assist with patient observations, documentation, cannulation and dialysis initiation/termination, and ensure safe practice alongside the multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory level of General Education.
• Good standard of written and spoken English.
• Demonstrates a commitment to further learning and personal development.
• Relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• GCSE in English or equivalent.
• Further recent study /courses.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for maintaining own and others Health, Safety and Security.
• Promote and practise high standards of infection prevention and control.
• Collaborate with line manager in learning and development within KSF.
• Train Health Care Assistants and supervise learners as part of the team.
• Follow training and competency-based guidance for dialysis-related tasks.
