Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Health Care Assistant to join the ward/department team, supporting dialysis care under supervision. You will follow SOPs and policies, develop self-directed practice, and uphold patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

Previous renal/haemodialysis experience is desirable; NVQ 3 or equivalent is preferred, with at least 12 months in a care setting. You will work as part of a dedicated team with training and supervision provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent required.
• At least 12 months experience in a care setting.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Setting up Dialysis Machines.
• Connecting and disconnecting patients from dialysis.
• Performing observations pre and post Dialysis.
• Caring for patients during Dialysis.
• Stock management and ensuring supplies are available.
• Assisting trained staff as required.
