Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust invites applications for a Diagnostic Radiology (DR) Physicist in the Radiological Sciences Unit. This 12-month fixed-term post involves delivering scientific advice and radiation safety support to ICHNT and external organisations.

The role offers opportunities to broaden experience across diagnostic radiology and QA, with training and HCPC registration support where applicable.

Qualifications

• MSc in Medical Physics or equivalent required.
• HCPC registration with ability to achieve within a reasonable timescale.
• Completion of Scientist Training Programme in Medical Physics, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage day-to-day QA for x-ray equipment across Trust and SLA customers.
• Perform routine QA, performance assessment and auditing of radiology equipment.
• Carry out acceptance testing of new radiological physics installations.
• Troubleshoot x-ray equipment issues across the Trust and for SLA customers.
• Develop, use and maintain software applications supporting imaging QA.
• Supervise trainee Clinical Scientists.
• Teach groups of ≥20 people within the Trust and external courses.
• Support research and development in Radiological Physics and Imaging.
• Participate in clinical audits and present findings at conferences.
