Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is expanding its Radiological Sciences Unit and seeks a diagnostic radiology physicist with HCPC registration and a strong QA and IRMER background. You will lead QA, commissioning and safety of X-ray systems, acting as MPE for trust and SLA customers while contributing to teaching and MSc/STP training.

The role includes developing examination protocols, data analysis systems, and supporting safety policies for staff and patients in line with IRMER

Qualifications

• Honours degree in a relevant subject.
• MSc in Medical Physics or equivalent.
• NHS STP training in medical physics or equivalent.
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Proven competence to act as Medical Physics Expert under IRMER.
• Practical experience in commissioning and routine testing of a wide range of X-ray Radiological equipment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Senior Radiological Physicist for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and other trusts covered by Service Level Agreements.
• Provide highly complex radiological physics support and scientific and technical expertise to the trust and SLA customers.
• Act as the Medical Physics Expert for specified areas of work for the Trust and the SLA customers.
• Plan, organise and implement integrated computer information systems for handling, analysing and interpreting Quality Assurance data.
• Teach and train staff and update local policies to ensure the safety of patients and staff regarding the use of x-rays.
