Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Diagnostic Radiographer to join our imaging department at Kingston Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified or experienced radiographers to develop their skills in a supportive and forward‑thinking environment. The department provides a full range of diagnostic studies and undertakes more than 300,000 examinations per annum.

As a Band 5 Radiographer, you will deliver high quality imaging services across a range of modalities – general radiography, theatres, fluoroscopy, with opportunities to rotate into CT, Dental and Nuclear Medicine depending on service needs. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the safe and effective care of patients while producing diagnostic images to support accurate clinical decision making.

We are committed to supporting professional development and offer training and mentorship to help you consolidate your practice and progress towards specialist roles.

Main Duties of the Job

Deliver high quality imaging services to support patient diagnosis and care, undertaking a broad range of imaging examinations while ensuring patient safety, dignity and comfort. Supervise radiology assistants, support workers and students where required. Participate in the department's shift system.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Radiography or equivalent (e.g. Diploma of the College of Radiographers)
  • Health & Care Professions Council Registration (HCPC)

Knowledge

  • Sound clinical knowledge of radiography
  • Awareness of current radiographic developments
  • Sound knowledge of IRMER regulations
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its implications

Experience

  • Clinical training in a recognised training establishment
  • Previous experience of working in a UK NHS environment
