Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of post-registration experience managing diabetes in primary care.
  • Full driving licence and current NMC registration.
  • IT literacy.

  • Deliver high-quality care to improve patient outcomes in line with Diabetes guidelines.
  • Identify and optimise care for patients with sub-optimally controlled Type 2 diabetes.
  • Provide education, support, and advice to patients.

The Diabetes Nurse will:

  • Deliver high-quality care to improve patient outcomes in line with Diabetes guidelines
  • Identify and optimise care for patients with sub-optimally controlled Type 2 diabetes
  • Conduct point of care testing and refer for specialist insulin treatment as needed
  • Provide education, support, and advice to patients with Type 2 Diabetes
  • Fulfil corporate nursing responsibilities and contribute to a proactive care approach

The ideal Diabetes Nurse will have:
  • A Diabetes diploma or equivalent EN qualification
  • At least 3 years of post-registration experience managing diabetes in primary care
  • Strong knowledge and confidence in providing education and advice to Type 2 Diabetes patients
  • Skills in optimising oral hypoglycaemics
  • A full driving licence and current NMC registration
  • IT literacy, including primary care systems
