Job summary

DTC, a Codan Company, is seeking a DevOps Team Lead with strong software testing experience to join our Engineering team in Whiteley, Hampshire. You will own the development infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes while leading two engineers with room to grow.

You will coordinate test planning and automation, translating requirements into repeatable tests and reliable builds. Embark on embedded support and hardware-integrated projects in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a DevOps or software testing team.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and release management.
• Experience with embedded systems or FPGA is beneficial.
• Eligibility to obtain UK Security Check clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish, lead and mentor a DevOps team, combining hands-on delivery with developing team capability.
• Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automating builds, testing and deployment to test environments.
• Maintain reliable build environments, including dependencies, engineer access and investigation of build or pipeline failures.
• Develop automated nightly build and test processes, making results accessible to engineers.
• Translate requirements into test plans, test cases and automated tests with engineering teams.
• Lead functional, integration, system and regression testing to verify software behaviour.
• Maintain traceability matrices linking requirements to test coverage and results.
• Manage Git workflows across multiple development and release branches, coordinating merges.
• Build and tag releases, maintain artefacts and ensure traceability to source/configuration.
• Provide clear visibility of test progress, defects, risks and release readiness.
• Continuously improve development workflows, test automation, infrastructure and release processes.
