Job summary

Elementa is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Devon. These opportunities are flexible to fit your availability, including day-to-day, short-term and long-term assignments, with potential for permanent roles for the right candidates.

You will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, keep students engaged, manage behaviour in line with school policies, and support a positive learning environment across subjects.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different school environments.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people’s education and development.

Responsibilities

• Supervising whole classes during teacher absences.
• Delivering pre-set lesson materials across a range of subjects.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Encouraging positive engagement with learning.
• Providing support to students where appropriate.
• Maintaining a safe, structured and respectful classroom environment.
• Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student progress.
