Job summary

hVIVO is seeking a Development Scientist to join our team responsible for developing and validating molecular, virology, microbiology and immunology assays.

Based at our Canary Wharf facility, this on-site role leads bespoke R&D client projects, mentors junior staff, and helps shape the lab's capabilities while ensuring compliance with GCP/GLP and SOPs. The ideal candidate holds a PhD and can manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality outputs to clients.

Qualifications

• PhD essential; experience in virology, microbiology or immunology.
• Experience in assay development and validation in a commercial environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience training and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in the development and validation of assays.
• Lead internal and client contracted research projects.
• Prepare study protocols, data and final reports for study outputs.
• Report analysed data to management and clients as required.
• Manage time to meet competing demands and deadlines.
• Establish budgets and resource needs for experiments.
• Provide updates on progress with large data sets.
• Mentor junior staff and introduce new technologies.
