Job summary

hVIVO Services Limited is seeking a Development Scientist to join a team responsible for developing and validating molecular, virology, microbiology and immunology assays in line with corporate objectives. The role is on site full time at the Canary Wharf facility in London.

The Development Scientist will lead bespoke R&D client projects as part of lab services and contribute to business and lab capabilities development, engaging with clients as required.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline.
• Proven experience in virology, microbiology or immunology.
• Experience in assay development and validation in a commercial setting.
• Ability to manage multiple client projects and timelines.
• Strong communication and ability to present data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific expertise in development and validation of assays.
• Deliver internal and client contracted research projects.
• Prepare study protocols, data and final reports for Clinical and hLab studies.
• Report analysed data to department, clients and divisions as required.
• Manage time effectively to meet competing demands and deadlines.
• Establish budgets and determine resource needs for experimental work.
• Provide regular updates on progress to management with large data sets.
• Train and mentor junior staff and adopt new technologies and processes.
• Management of the operational delivery of multiple projects across the team.
• Liaise with QA to ensure timely auditing of study documents and results.
• Ensure compliance with GCP and GLP, ISO, GMP and SOPs.
• Assist in writing and reviewing publications to showcase hVIVO research.
• Management and review of SOPs to ensure scientific robustness and regulatory alignment.
• Assist in maintaining laboratories and health & safety compliance.
• Attend conferences and client meetings as appropriate.
