Job summary

Carrington West is assisting their local authority client in Essex in the search for a Planning Officer on a 3 month rolling contract basis. The role focuses on Development Management, dealing with minors and householder applications, and delivering specialist advice.

The candidate should have RTPI accreditation or equivalent planning qualification considered beneficial and be ready to start almost immediately with interviews at short notice. Pay rate £40 per hour.

Qualifications

• RTPI accredited Planning Degree or equivalent is beneficial.
• Immediate start available; interviews at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a high-quality Planning & Implementation service in Development Management for minor and householder cases.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and council policies on planning matters.
• Deliver specialist advice and services in Development Management and keep up to date with legislation and best practice.
• Manage complex planning applications, attend appeals/hearings as required, and liaise with stakeholders.
