Overview

Development Chemist – Team Leader | Burnley, Lancashire

Process Instruments is a double Queen’s award-winning market leader in the manufacture of innovative and high-quality water quality instrumentation. We are looking for a Development Chemist to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis (35 hours per week). This is a junior management role with two reports, which could lead to a more senior management role.

Responsibilities
  • Support the creation and testing of new water quality instrumentation products, primarily in the laboratory.
  • Advance sensor technologies, fine-tune accuracy and functionality to ensure reliability and performance in real-world conditions.
  • Plan and execute in-depth testing procedures, evaluate complex data sets, and present evidence-based insights that guide technical improvements and product enhancements.
  • Procure materials and record stock quantities.
  • Create risk assessments and follow COSHH regulations.
  • Manage two reports and contribute to Management Advisory Group discussions.
