Job Description:

Hyundai Motorsport GmbH, based in Alzenau near Frankfurt/M. Germany, is responsible for Hyundai's global motorsport activities.

We are seeking a creative Development and Calibration Engineer to join our Testing and Simulation Team. The role involves powertrain system thermo-fluids modeling and performance analysis to develop a competitive product.

  • Responsibility for powertrain calibration at the test bench and race track if required
  • Define test procedures for new powertrain components, software, or hardware, and oversee test execution
  • Optimize engine calibration and strategies for maximum performance and reliability
  • Provide innovative solutions to engineering challenges that benefit our products
  • Evaluate and analyze concepts independently while working within a team
  • Collaborate closely with product development teams
  • Create and validate novel engineering solutions autonomously
  • Develop robust and versatile models for innovative testing
  • Work with skilled engineers to identify problems and develop solutions for a world-class product
  • Enhance engineering skills and broaden knowledge and scope

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in a relevant engineering field with ICE involvement
  • At least 5 years of experience in high-performance or motorsport powertrain development
  • Experience with hybrid powertrains is advantageous
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art TC-DI engine development, focusing on powertrain test bench calibration and development
  • Familiarity with modern automated test equipment
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages
  • Strong manual dexterity and practical skills
  • Formula SAE experience is highly preferred
  • Deep understanding of ICE/powertrain testing and metrology
  • Solid knowledge of internal combustion engine and powertrain fundamentals
  • Experience with test bench automation, combustion analysis, CAN bus architecture
  • Skills in data post-processing tools (Wintax, ATLAS, etc.)
  • Proficiency in English; German skills are a plus or willingness to learn
