Job summary

Computershare UK is seeking a Developer to join a collaborative, growing technology team in Bristol. You will work within a supportive development group to deliver new or enhanced software capabilities across multiple applications and frameworks, with opportunities to collaborate with stakeholders and learn continuously.

The role uses Perl, C#, and JavaScript, with cross-training as needed, and includes exposure to AI within the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience of application development and support within an enterprise context.
• Experience in an Agile development and/or DevOps environment, embracing automation, CI/CD practices.

A role you will love

As a Developer you will work within a supportive, technical development team to deliver new or enhanced capabilities across a portfolio of applications and supporting frameworks. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders to design, build, test and deploy well-implemented, high-quality software solutions which satisfy expectations and deliver value. We currently use a mix of languages including: Perl, C# and JavaScript – we will cross train as required. Though we are increasingly taking advantage of AI in the software development lifecycle.

Other Key Responsibilities Include

• Developing software to generate personalised client communications, such as emails, letters, bills, and regulated documents
• Support the evaluation and resolution of technical challenges and blockers to minimise their impact on the team’s delivery and/or supported products.
• Embrace and support improvements and innovation in technologies/practices within your team that would benefit the business e.g. efficiency in the software development process or improved customer experience.
• Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to: share knowledge and ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.

What Will You Bring To The Role

We’re looking for a developer who can work collaboratively, engage with stakeholders confidently and will contribute to meetings; someone who is not afraid to challenge the status quo. You will be someone who is passionate, takes time in addressing problems, and meticulous attention to detail.

You’ll Also Need

• Experience of application development and support within an enterprise context
• Experience in an Agile development and/or DevOps environment, embracing the adoption and continuous improvement of practices including (but not limited to) automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Leadership qualities, with experience supporting and driving technical initiatives, taking a lead role in delivering solutions, supporting colleagues, championing quality, and contributing to the definition of development approaches and best practices
• Collaborates and communicates well, builds great working relationships, influences others, challenges effectively and responds well to challenge from others, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
• Strong work ethic and able to deal with conflicting priorities
• Be a curious and a continuous learner; someone who investigates, interprets and can grasp new concepts.
