Job summary

Avara Foods is recruiting a Despatch Operative at the Hollybank site in Scropton, near Hatton. You’ll work in a fast-paced FMCG environment handling fresh and frozen meat, palletising, wrapping and loading deliveries.

Hours are Tue–Sat 06:00–15:00 with a minimum £13.66 per hour and an additional £2 weekend shift allowance. Secure contract and overtime opportunities are available, plus Life Assurance and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Licences/experience with MHE equipment and competancy.
• Good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
• Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively.
• Good attention to detail with a flexible attitude to tasks.
• Desirable experience in production/manufacturing; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Picking, storing and documenting products.
• Quality checking, wrapping and palletising products.
• Stacking frozen and chilled products.
• Loading and unloading trailers.
• Using hand scanners to log products into the system.
• Picking, checking and rotating products based on the daily plan.
• Manual handling which can include lifting up to 20kg.
