Job summary

Avara Foods in Hereford is seeking Despatch Operatives for the Grandstand Road site. You’ll help move products from production to outloads with full training provided and no prior experience required.

Role includes 38.5 hours per week, shift patterns 0700-1900 and 1900-0700, and a starting rate of £13.15 per hour plus £1.23 shift allowance. Weekly pay and guaranteed hours with overtime opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Good level of communication and numeracy - essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing desirable.
• Previous experience in a similar role or working in the food manufacturing industry desirable.
• Basic food hygiene certificate, a battery operated truck license or manual handling training desirable.
• Effective organisation & time management.
• Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate pedestrian pallet trucks, scan products and load delivery lorries with the correct product.
• Manual handling up to 20kg.
• Load and unload vehicles using manual handling equipment.
• Be fully aware of safety equipment and how to use it.
• Carry out duties in line with training, food safety and health and safety guidance.
