Job summary

Avara Foods is hiring Despatch Operatives for our Hereford site on Grandstand Road. No experience is required as full training is provided. The role is 38.50 hours per week with shifts 0700–1900 and 1900–0700.

You will ensure products transition from production to outloads, loading deliveries with pallets and handling items up to 20 kg. We offer a secure contract with guaranteed hours, weekly pay, and a generous benefits package including shift allowance and staff perks.

Qualifications

• Good level of communication and numeracy – essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing would be desirable.
• Basic food hygiene certificate would be desirable.
• Battery operated truck license or manual handling training would be desirable.
• Previous experience in a similar role or in food manufacturing would be desirable.
• Effective organisation & time management.

Responsibilities

• Operate pedestrian pallet trucks, scan products, and load delivery lorries with correct product.
• Manual handling including lifting equipment and products up to 20kg.
• Load and unload vehicles using manual handling equipment.
• Be aware of safety equipment and proper usage.
• Carry out duties in line with training, food safety and health & safety guidelines.
