Job summary

Avara Foods hereford site is seeking a Despatch Operative to support the smooth transition of products from production to outbound deliveries. Full training will be provided, no previous experience required, and you will work on 38.5 hours per week with 07:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00 shifts.

You will handle loading, pallet handling and basic movement tasks, with safety training and ongoing development. The role offers a secure contract, weekly pay, and opportunities for overtime at our Hereford

Qualifications

• What candidates must have: good communication and numeracy.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing is desirable.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing is desirable.
• Basic food hygiene, truck license or manual handling training desirable.
• Strong organisation and time management; full training provided.

No experience necessary, full training is provided!

About The Role

The Despatch operative will be responsible for the smooth transition of our product from production lines, ensuring availability for outloads.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Operating pedestrian pallet trucks, scanning product to ensure it is sent to the correct customer and loading delivery lorries with the correct product.
• Manual handling which may include lifting equipment and products up to 20kg.
• Loading and unloading vehicles using manual handling equipment.
• Be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his/her tasks and how equipment should be used.
• Carrying out all duties in line with training, food safety and health and safety guidance

What We Are Looking For

• Good level of communication and numeracy - essential.
• An NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing would be desirable.
• Previous experience in a similar role or working in the food manufacturing industry would be desirable.
• A basic food hygiene certificate, a battery operated truck license or manual handling training would be desirable.
• Effective organisation & time management
• Full training will be provided.
