Job summary

Avara Foods Limited is seeking Despatch Operatives for our Hereford site to ensure smooth transfer of products from production lines to outbound loads. Full training will be provided, with emphasis on safety and accuracy in loading.

Typical duties include operating pallet trucks, scanning items for correct delivery, and safely loading vehicles. Strong communication and numeracy are essential assets for this role.

Qualifications

• Good level of communication and numeracy – essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing would be desirable.
• Previous experience in a similar role or working in the food manufacturing industry would be desirable.
• A basic food hygiene certificate, a battery operated truck license or manual handling training would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operating pedestrian pallet trucks, scanning product to ensure it is sent to the correct customer and loading delivery lorries with the correct product.
• Manual handling which may include lifting equipment and products up to 20kg.
• Loading and unloading vehicles using manual handling equipment.
• Be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform tasks and how equipment should be used.
• Carrying out all duties in line with training, food safety and health and safety guidance.
