Job Description

Are you a flooring focused designer who thrives on creativity, collaboration, and commercial impact?

Or an interior or textile designer with strong experience in floor coverings who wants to work with a highly respected, design led woven carpet manufacturer operating at the premium end of the commercial interiors market?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised business with a long-standing heritage in woven carpet design, trusted by leading hospitality, workplace, and public space designers across the UK and internationally.

The company is seeking a London based Designer to support and strengthen its specification presence across the capital. This is a highly visible, client facing role working closely with interior designers, architects, and the internal specification sales team to create bespoke carpet solutions for some of the most design led projects in the UK.

This position sits at the intersection of creativity and delivery, offering genuine influence over design direction while seeing concepts progress through to manufactured reality.

The Role

You will act as the design lead for the London region, partnering closely with the specification sales team to interpret briefs, develop bespoke carpet solutions, and support projects from initial concept through to completion.

You will collaborate directly with leading A&D practices, translating creative intent into technically viable, commercially appropriate woven carpet designs, while ensuring brand integrity, manufacturability, and project timelines are maintained.

This is a role where design credibility, communication skills, and technical understanding are equally important.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Client Collaboration
  • Work directly with interior designers, architects, and end user clients to interpret briefs and develop bespoke carpet designs
  • Translate concepts, mood boards, and colour stories into commercially viable woven carpet solutions
  • Present design ideas confidently, explaining technical considerations in a clear and engaging way
  • Support the London specification sales team by strengthening relationships and adding value through design expertise
Design Development & Delivery
  • Take designs from initial concept through to full colour approval and production readiness
  • Develop custom patterns, colourways, and scales appropriate for hospitality and commercial interiors
  • Manage multiple live projects, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams across sales, project management, and manufacturing
Technical & Manufacturing Interface
  • Ensure designs align with the company’s woven manufacturing capabilities and quality standards
  • Review briefs thoroughly at project outset to minimise revisions and improve response times
  • Coordinate pattern and colour development across the full scope of each project
  • Maintain accuracy in design interpretation and documentation
Market Insight & Brand Contribution
  • Stay abreast of design trends, colour directions, and competitor activity within commercial interiors
  • Contribute to trend presentations, product storytelling, and client facing design materials
  • Attend relevant client meetings, sales meetings, and industry events
  • Support the company’s position as a design led partner within the London A&D market
Skills, Experience & Attributes
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Design, Textile Design, Interior Design, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in carpet, flooring, or surface design within commercial interiors
  • Strong understanding of pattern, colour, scale, and woven construction
  • Confident working with CAD and digital design tools relevant to textile or flooring design
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage credibly with senior designers and architects
  • Highly organised with strong time management and attention to detail
  • Commercially aware, solutions focused, and comfortable working under pressure
  • Collaborative, positive, and professional in approach

This role goes beyond studio-based design. It places you at the centre of London’s A&D community, influencing projects through strong relationships, creative insight, and technical understanding.

You will join a business that recognises the value of design in winning work and delivering outstanding outcomes, providing you with the platform to collaborate with some of the most respected practices in the market.

For a designer who wants their work to be specified, manufactured, and ultimately experienced within high quality interior spaces, this is a genuinely rewarding opportunity.
