Job summary

Nene Park Academy in Peterborough seeks a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead to oversee safeguarding and child protection across the academy, ensuring high standards of safeguarding information and referrals. You will attend professional meetings, coordinate referrals, and support families to safeguard student welfare.

The role involves managing safeguarding platforms, triaging referrals to DSLs and agencies, and collaborating with LADO and local safeguarding teams to protect pupils.

Qualifications

• Trained Designated Safeguarding Lead with relevant safeguarding experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with multi-agency teams in education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver support and guidance to vulnerable children and families to support academic, therapeutic, and pastoral needs.
• Manage, implement and review the family work strategy within the academy.
• Ensure safeguarding representation at professional meetings and make referrals as needed.
• Manage safeguarding platform, triage referrals to DSLs and agencies.
• Support house teams to contribute to EHAs and meet with families regarding safeguarding and academic concerns.
• Liaise with external agencies (LADO/LA safeguarding) as required to support children and families.
• Maintain confidential, GDPR-compliant records of safeguarding concerns and actions.
