Job summary

Neale-Wade Academy in March, Cambridgeshire, is seeking a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to support safeguarding, coordinate referrals, and work with families and external agencies to protect young people. You will join a committed safeguarding team and help ensure concerns are acted upon with care.

This fixed-term post is 30 hours per week across 38 weeks per year, with a pattern of Monday to Friday 09:30–16:00, contributing to a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate referrals and multi-agency support for vulnerable learners.
  • Strong record-keeping and safeguarding reporting skills.
  • Collaborative, empathetic and professional approach to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate safeguarding and child protection processes, ensuring concerns are identified, recorded and acted upon promptly.
  • Lead and coordinate referrals, early help interventions and multi-agency support for vulnerable learners and families.
  • Maintain accurate safeguarding records, monitor at‑risk pupils and provide safeguarding reporting to senior leaders.
  • Support staff through advice, guidance and safeguarding, PREVENT and online safety training.
  • Build effective partnerships with families, schools and external agencies to improve outcomes and keep children safe
