Job summary

E-ACT Mansfield Green Academy is seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to safeguard the welfare of all students. You will support the Headteacher, lead safeguarding practice, and ensure policies and procedures promote a safe learning environment.

You will lead training for staff, interpret safeguarding legislation, and provide expert guidance on child protection matters to maintain a culture of safety and high expectations for every pupil.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Safeguarding Training (DSL/DDSL level) required.
• Knowledge and experience of statutory safeguarding, child protection, assessment, thresholds, multi-agency working.
• Strong understanding of KCSIE, safeguarding and child protection legislation, statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to manage difficult and sensitive conversations confidently and professionally.
• Confident use of ICT and safeguarding systems such as CPOMS.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management support for safeguarding across the academy.
• Identify, interpret and implement relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance in academy practice.
• Monitor and review safeguarding policies to meet statutory, Trust and local requirements.
• Lead safeguarding and child protection training for all staff groups.
• Advise on safeguarding concerns and make referrals to external agencies when required.
