Job summary

Nene Park Academy in Peterborough is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead to oversee safeguarding and child protection, manage referrals, attend professional meetings and support families. The role focuses on safeguarding strategy, confidentiality, and cross-agency collaboration to protect students.

You will work within Meridian Trust to ensure high safeguarding standards, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a supportive environment for pupils at risk, while aligning with Ofsted-rated

Qualifications

• Trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
• Experience with safeguarding and child protection in education
• Ability to work with multi-agency professionals and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver safeguarding support to vulnerable students and families
• Lead safeguarding strategy and triage referrals to DSLs and agencies
• Represent the school at safeguarding and multi-agency meetings
• Maintain safeguarding platform records and GDPR-compliant documentation
• Support housing teams/parents in EHAs and safeguarding processes
• Liaise with external agencies (LADO/LA safeguarding) as required
• Ensure accurate records of safeguarding concerns and outcomes are kept confidential
