Job summary

Henry Tyndale School in Hampshire is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead to lead a small team of Deputy DSLs and oversee safeguarding across the school.

The role requires substantial safeguarding expertise and a strong understanding of SEND, particularly for pupils with complex needs. Applications are welcomed from diverse backgrounds; the school upholds equality and compliance with the Equality Act 2010.

Qualifications

• Substantial knowledge and experience of safeguarding and a very good understanding of SEND, especially children and young people with complex needs.
• Experience of working in a Children With Disabilities Team would be an advantage.
• Competent and confident in handling a caseload and liaising with teachers and a variety of external professionals.

• Lead a small team of Deputy DSLs to coordinate safeguarding across the school.
• Maintain and develop safeguarding policies and procedures to keep pupils safe and thriving.

Our School is a successful and growing special school for pupils aged 2-19 with complex learning needs. Safeguarding is a key component of what we do, and we need an experienced practitioner to lead a small team of Deputy DSLs.

We're looking for someone who:
