Job description

We're looking for a resilient, determined, and proactive individual to take on the important role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Co-op Academy Priesthorpe.

You will work alongside senior leaders and the safeguarding team and will lead the Academy's response to safeguarding concerns. Responsibilities include managing referrals and maintaining accurate, secure records of students with Child Protection plans and involvement from social services or external agencies.

The role involves promoting a safeguarding culture within the Academy, ensuring children and families feel supported and safe, and are properly signposted to help and guidance. You will collaborate with the Principal to prioritize safeguarding, ensure staff are well trained, and possess expert knowledge in safeguarding. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, and experience working effectively with young people and their families.
