You will work as part of the leadership team and report directly to the Head Teacher for this vital role. You will have opportunities to collaborate with other members of the Witherslack Group team across different locations to enable your professional growth and development.
As a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will support the DSL in ensuring actions are taken to support and safeguard children within the school. This includes undertaking delegated tasks daily, liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies, parents/carers, and staff on matters of wellbeing, child protection, and safeguarding. You will also support the wider school team.

To join us, you need at least 2 years’ experience as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in a school setting, with a comprehensive portfolio of CPD related to Safeguarding and Child Protection. Experience with Microsoft Office and other IT systems is valuable, along with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. An empathetic approach is essential. You must be prepared to support the DSL in their statutory duties, work independently, and hold a full UK driving license. Supporting medication administration is also part of the role.
