Job summary

Activate Learning seeks a Designated Safeguarding Adviser to join the safeguarding team at the Oxford College Campus. The role involves meeting learners, triaging support needs and referring to police, social services, and mental health services as required.

You will also advise teaching staff on safeguarding actions and work closely with families. The successful candidate will have extensive safeguarding knowledge, experience in a similar setting, and a compassionate, confidential,

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of safeguarding policies and regulations.
• Ability to provide comprehensive records to track progress of safeguarding work.
• Person-centred approach with compassion and empathy.
• Experience in a similar role in social work, youth work, safeguarding or care setting.

Responsibilities

• Meet learners and triage safeguarding support needs.
• Refer to internal and external agencies (police, social services, mental health etc.).
• Advise teaching teams on appropriate safeguarding actions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with families of students under safeguarding.
