Job summary

Activate Learning is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Adviser to join our safeguarding team at Banbury Campus. The role involves meeting learners, triaging needs, and referring to external agencies as needed. You will advise staff on safeguarding actions and collaborate closely with families to ensure student safety.

The role is fixed-term, full-time (37 hours/week) until January 2028, based at Banbury College Campus, with strong emphasis on professional integrity and confidential practice.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of safeguarding policies and regulations.
• Ability to provide comprehensive records to track safeguarding progress.
• Experience in a similar role (social/youth safeguarding or care).

Responsibilities

• Meet learners and triage safeguarding support needs.
• Make referrals to internal and external agencies (police, social services, mental health, college counsellors).
• Advise teaching teams on appropriate actions to meet students' needs.
• Build close working relationships with families of students under safeguarding.
