Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Design Technology Technician to join a secondary school in Halton. The successful candidate will support the school's Design Technology department on a full-time, ongoing basis, working alongside teaching staff to ensure practical lessons, workshops and resources are prepared and maintained to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience in a secondary school, college or workshop environment.
• Practical experience and technical knowledge essential.
• Organised, reliable and able to support teaching staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Preparing materials, equipment and resources for Design Technology lessons.
• Supporting teachers with the preparation of practical activities.
• Ensuring workshops, classrooms and practical areas are organised and ready for use.
• Maintaining and checking tools, machinery and equipment.
• Assisting with the safe storage and organisation of materials and resources.
• Helping to ensure equipment is used safely and appropriately.
• Carrying out routine maintenance and reporting any issues with equipment.
• Supporting students during practical activities where appropriate.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Assisting teaching staff with practical demonstrations and projects.
• Ensuring appropriate health and safety procedures are followed within practical areas.
