Job summary

Channing School is seeking an enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to join the department from January 2027. The role supports teaching staff and pupils, ensuring workshops, equipment and resources are prepared, maintained and organized for high-quality learning.

The technician will assist with CAD/CAM technologies, 3D printers, laser cutters and food tech prep. The successful candidate will ensure health and safety standards, maintain stock records, and provide general administrative

Qualifications

• Experience with materials such as wood, metal and plastics.
• Familiarity with workshop tools and machinery.
• Knowledge of health and safety in a technical environment.
• Experience in CAD/CAM technologies is advantageous in education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons.
• Support the safe operation of workshop machinery and digital manufacturing technologies.
• Maintain equipment and workshop facilities in good order.
• Assist with preparation of resources for Food Technology lessons.
