Job summary

Bedford Girls’ School in Bedford is seeking a proactive D&T Technician to join the Design Technology department. You will help with workshop upkeep, prepare materials for lessons and assist with prototypes.

You’ll support staff and students with displays, photography for the school magazine and moderation tasks, and provide technical guidance across timber, polymers, CAD and manufacturing methods.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of workshop machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the smooth running of the DT department, maintain workshop tools and equipment.
• Prepare materials for lessons and assist staff with making prototypes.
• Support staff and students with displays and photography for the school magazine and displays.
• Provide extra support for Theatre Technician in sets and props for productions.
• Offer technical guidance on materials, processes and technologies including timber, polymers, CAD and manufacturing techniques.
