Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an experienced Design Technology Technician to join a Sefton secondary school on a full-time basis, starting immediately. You will support the DT department, prepare equipment, and assist lessons to ensure workshops are safe and well organised.

The role requires knowledge of DT equipment, a health and safety qualification, and the ability to work independently in an educational setting with an immediate start.

Qualifications

• Experience with Design Technology equipment and machinery.
• Health & Safety certificate covering the safe use of DT equipment.
• Experience in an educational/workshop environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, maintaining and organising equipment and materials for Design Technology lessons.
• Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons.
• Ensuring workshops, classrooms and equipment are safe, clean and ready for use.
• Maintaining and checking a wide range of Design Technology tools, machinery and equipment.
• Supporting practical work across areas such as resistant materials, woodwork, graphics and other DT disciplines.
• Carrying out routine maintenance and reporting any faults or safety concerns.
• Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required.
• Ensuring all equipment is used in accordance with school health and safety procedures.
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Design Technology department.

Design Technology Technician Required for a Sefton Secondary School

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Design Technology Technician to join a secondary school in Sefton on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled DT Technician with experience working within a school, college, workshop or similar practical environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the Design Technology department, ensuring lessons can be delivered safely and effectively across a range of practical subjects.

The Role - Design Technology Technician

As a Design Technology Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, maintaining and organising equipment and materials for Design Technology lessons.
• Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons.
• Ensuring workshops, classrooms and equipment are safe, clean and ready for use.
• Maintaining and checking a wide range of Design Technology tools, machinery and equipment.

Requirements

The successful Design Technology Technician will:

• Have previous experience working with Design Technology equipment and machinery.
• Hold an appropriate Health & Safety certificate/qualification covering the safe use of relevant DT equipment and machinery.
• Have a strong understanding of workshop and machinery safety.
• Be confident using and maintaining a range of practical equipment.
• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Have excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety.
• Ideally have previous experience working within a secondary school or educational setting.
• Be able to start immediately.
