Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced Design Technology Technician for a Sefton secondary school, to support a busy DT department and ensure safe, smooth practical lessons. The role is full-time with an immediate start.

You will maintain tools and equipment, assist teachers and students during practical sessions, and uphold health and safety standards across woodwork, graphics and related DT subjects.

Qualifications

• Experience with Design Technology equipment and machinery in a school, college, or workshop.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply.
• Strong understanding of workshop safety and safe equipment use.
• Available for an immediate start.

Design Technology Technician - SeftonLocation: Sefton Contract: Full Time Start Date: Immediate Start Design Technology Technician Required for a Sefton Secondary School

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Design Technology Technician to join a secondary school in Sefton on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled DT Technician with experience working within a school, college, workshop or similar practical environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the Design Technology department, ensuring lessons can be delivered safely and effectively across a range of practical subjects.

The Role - Design Technology Technician

As a Design Technology Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, maintaining and organising equipment and materials for Design Technology lessons.


• Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons.


• Ensuring workshops, classrooms and equipment are safe, clean and ready for use.


• Maintaining and checking a wide range of Design Technology tools, machinery and equipment.


• Supporting practical work across areas such as resistant materials, woodwork, graphics and other DT disciplines.


• Carrying out routine maintenance and reporting any faults or safety concerns.


• Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required.


• Ensuring all equipment is used in accordance with school health and safety procedures.


• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the Design Technology department.

Requirements

The successful Design Technology Technician will:

• Have previous experience working with Design Technology equipment and machinery.


• Hold an appropriate Health & Safety certificate/qualification covering the safe use of relevant DT equipment and machinery.


• Have a strong understanding of workshop and machinery safety.


• Be confident using and maintaining a range of practical equipment.


• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.


• Have excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety.


• Ideally have previous experience working within a secondary school or educational setting.


• Be able to start immediately.
