Job description

Design & Technology Technician - 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm, term time only (39 Weeks). Flexibility for less hours and start/finish times can be accommodated for the right candidate. Grade C - Step 1 FTE £24,405, Actual Annual Salary £20,931.96 (based on 37 hours a week).

Wildern School, a thriving secondary school in Hedge End, is seeking an enthusiastic and ideally qualified Design & Technology Technician to join our vibrant team.

We are delighted to advertise an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of our Design & Technology curriculum. We are looking for someone who ideally has a background in Design & Technology or any related field and possesses practical skills or have some prior experience with any relevant tools and equipment.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, setting up and maintaining a wide range of equipment and materials for practical lessons.
• Supporting teachers and students in the workshop environment, ensuring a safe and productive learning space.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of engaging and practical learning activities.
• Maintaining and repairing equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
• Ordering and keeping stock of resources.
• Contributing to the overall organisation and smooth running of the Design & Technology department.
